The Man from LiboréAs shared by Louise who volunteered in Liboré for a month:
After rehearsal I talked with a wonderful man in Liboré. He shared his story with me and once again my insides cried out to say, "Why does it have to be this way?” He is a soft-spoken, handsome, well educated man, who grew up in the villages and, against all odds, was able to graduate university. He spends his free time doing what he can to enlighten village kids and parents on the importance of education in rising above poverty. I was shocked to learn that he could afford to eat only once per day. Yet he never complained and continued to help everywhere he could. Today his passion to help has continued and he has managed to find fulfilling work. His example has been an inspiration to so many others in the community.
